Media Bias - Essential for This Project

Checking the bias of all sources found on the Internet is essential to citizenship.  During this project, it is essential that you find high quality reputable sources to justify your prompt.

1.  Start with an overview of the sources.  Remember, if you have a source that leans one way, find the counter to make sure you have all sides of what you are researching. You need balanced information to make your argument.

2.   Use the SIFT method and the ART of Lateral Reading.  Open a second or third tab and make sure to verify the author's credibility and the publishing entity.  Use Wikipedia or WhoIs to verify.  Trace any data and claims to the original source - don't rely on only one interpretation of the data.

3.  Look at the advertisements on the site you are visiting - are they appropriate to the source you are searching?
