Requesting Apps

All applications and programs used at FCDS must go through an approval process that includes T&L and Technology. This policy is referenced in the Learning Resources section of the Employee Handbook.  This ensures that all programs meet the curriculum needs as well as the technological and security needs of our students.  To request an application not already installed in Clever, you will need to fill out the approval form.

FAQ

Who do I contact for Help?

If you can not log in to Clever, use the helpdesk email under the login box.

Why is an app I use not showing up?

This is a mid-year soft rollout.  Some apps require all data to be deleted to create new logins and accounts to move into a single-sign-on environment.  You will still need to provide the link and username/password to your students until a full rollout in Fall 2023.  The full rollout in Fall 2023 will include all school-approved apps.

I clicked on an App and received an error message, what do I do?

Contact the helpdesk using the email under the Clever login box.

Do I have to use Clever?

Clever is the school-approved curriculum resource hub.  Apps and resources that are school-approved will be included in our Clever portal.  Using one resource hub with a single sign-on capability will increase instructional time.

Why do I have to enter user credentials on some apps?

Not all applications work with a single sign-on.  Clever saves the username and password on the first login so that for subsequent login students/teachers do not need to re-enter credentials.   During the soft rollout, some apps are just links to the programs until we can fully integrate the usernames and passwords without losing program data.

What is a Teacher Page?

Teachers can create multiple personalized Teacher Pages to house a variety of learning resources for themselves and their students. Once a teacher has designed their Teacher Page(s), and they've added applications and resources (e.g., learning applications, links to various websites, PDF files, etc.), teachers can share their page(s) with students. Teachers can design multiple Teacher Pages and can even create a different Teacher Page for every class or subject if desired. Teachers in the same school can also share their Teacher Pages with each other to view.

Do all students and faculty have access to everything in Clever?

No.  Some programs are purchased for grade levels, departments, or individual teachers.  Only students in these grades, departments, or courses have access.

Do I still have to create my own rosters in programs?

Yes, in many programs you will still need to create your classes and supply the access codes for students to be integrated with your course.  However, Clever then makes it easier for the student log in once you have set your roster.  This is true for many programs like Canva, Edpuzzle, Scratch, WeVideo.
