Digital Citizenship is the intersection between between being a good human and technology use. Digital citizenship used to be a bunch of "don't do" statements, but in order to build critical thinking skills, empathy and enable students to be productive citizens and users of information and technology, Digital Citizenship has to be explicitly taught and modeled so that students can see the contextualization of the skills needed in action.
One of the most important aspects of Digital Citizenship is information and news literacy. Remember to SIFT through information to properly find the right information.
